Anela Rei is a Sacramento-based actress who’s been performing for 9 years. This is her first production with Experimental Quickies/Spectrum Stage. She’s an alumna of the National Theatre Institute at the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center and a current Theatre Arts and Marketing student at American River College. She’d like to thank her Nanay for her unconditional support, friends and family for attending her shows, and the EQ team for giving her this amazing opportunity! Next month, come see her as “Benvolio” in The Bard’s Buddies’ production of Romeo & Juliet! 

Agustín Chapa is very happy to work with EQ for the first time, and to be a part of this wonderful community. His previous works include Romeo and Juliet (Mercutio), Water by the Spoonful (Elliot), and Shakespeare in Love (Shakespeare). He’s excited to share experiences in these stories.

Bre is absolutely ecstatic to be a part of EQ: Queer Time! They have acted in 4 children’s musicals and 1 play. She did theatre in high school, experiencing roles such as Berlioz in Aristocats Jr., Ensemble & Anna (U/S) in Frozen Jr., Truly Scrumptious in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Jr., and Ensemble in The Play That Goes Wrong. More recently, playing Ensemble in Rent the Musical and Melody in Story Explorers Jr. at CRC. This is Bre’s first time working with Spectrum Stage and they’re excited to make friends.

Cas is incredibly excited to be taking part in their first EQ! Besides acting, they also love to work backstage, helping with anything from costumes to lighting. They were most recently in Treasure Island at ARC. They want to thank their friends and family for the support, and they hope you enjoy the show!

Chloe is an actor and costume designer based in Elk Grove. Most recently, she has been in Twelfth Night (Olivia), Water by the Spoonful (Haikumom), and The Importance of Being Earnest (Miss Prism). This is her first show at Spectrum Stage with EQ and she is excited for this new opportunity to play diverse roles and design and create costumes for the various shows.

As a Wright, er, wait, Danika Lorraine likes to wright- what? As a Danika, Lorraine likes to write…for play! Playwright! That’s Danika! The sounds of language leave their marks on Danika’s acting mind, and their poetry flows on the rhythm that grows from the inspiration moving through a character’s mind. A voice is a choice, and since a story takes time, they’re grateful for yours! You can follow them @lorraine.the.wrighter if you feel so inclined.

Dom has been involved with Theatre for over 7 years, spending that time working both on and off the stage. Some of his past roles include Caliban (The Tempest), Garden Gnome (Amelie), and Linus (You’re A Goodman Charlie Brown). He’s excited to be part of his first ever EQ, and hopes you enjoy all the work that has gone into this production.

Frankie Lord (they/he) is co-producer, writer, director, and actor for EQ. After eight years in comedy, Lord returned to more traditional theater just a year ago. Braced for a million rejections, they were instead performing by September. Recent resume includes Mary Shelley, Rimers of Eldritch, and Faking Salvation, on top of founding and doing two rounds of EQ. They remain in this lifetime motivated by the supportiveness and sincerity this community expresses.

How's it going, I'm Lyra! I'm a transfem indie artist with a background in film and media production. My biggest dream is to become an independent horror film director. I'm currently working on a degree so I can do just that! I also enjoy making music in my free time, prominently inspired by artists like Boards of Canada and Gorillaz. I'm very new to the world of theater, only having taken a couple of classes in high school – so this is my first proper production! Wish me luck!

Marie Knyff is a lifelong theater nerd who is excited to be performing in Experimental Quickies: Queer Time. Queer Time is her first time being involved in a production since she graduated high school, as well as her first time performing since realizing that she is trans. You can see her onstage as Iphigenia in Iphigenia and as an AI Zombie in We’re Here, We’re Queer, We Time Travel. In her free time, she enjoys playing RPGs in both tabletop and video game form. 

Melanie is excited to be making her Spectrum Stage debut in this Experimental Quickies production, her first production after high school, playing The Bridesmaid in Something Borrowed, Christine Jorgensen in We’re Here, We’re Queer, We Time Travel, and an Ensemble Butterfly in The Ugly Butterfly. She is thrilled to bring these characters to life. Previous credits include the Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz and Aphrodite in Nearly Players at Monterey Trail High School. Melanie is grateful for the support and guidance of her amazing directors in this production.

I'm happy to be among this amazingly talented bunch! This is my first time acting for EQ! Some previous credits include Billy Bones in Treasure Island directed by Pam Downes at ARC; Wessen in Hello Girls! directed by Jenny Connors; and Antonio in The Tempest directed by Ryan Reece.

Noah (they/them) has been involved in Sac theatre for over 15 years. Their work both on and off stage has been seen at Big Idea Theatre, Sutter Street, Arden Playhouse, and most recently with Spectrum Stage as a program director. Some favorite acting credits include Betty 5 (Collective Rage), Mary Woolley (Bull in a China Shop) and Stop Kiss (co-director, Spectrum Stage). Huge thanks to the EQ team for sharing their time and talents with us to bring these stories to life at a time when queer joy is resistance!

Oscar Quezada (They/He) is a director, designer, producer, and actor. He is honored to be a part of EQ. They want to thank Ben and Frankie for including him in the EQ family. Sunny, Noah, and Sara of Spectrum Theatre for their amazing support. Their family for always having his back. He also wants to thank his wonderful partner, Rory; without Rory's vision, professionalism, and endless love, The Ugly Butterfly wouldn't fly so freely and for that Oscar is forever proud and grateful to him. Oscar dedicates his work to Maisie Crimmins and Anthony Javellana.

Rona Bernadette Arrogancia (she/they/siya) is a queer Filipinx/Chinese theatre and film actor, director, producer, and drag artist. Favorite credits include Catherine in PROOF, The Nina in AIRNESS – leading them to judge the real-life US Air Guitar National Championships – directing WAITING FOR GODOT, and producing/directing DRIFTING this fall. Film credits include award-winning shorts DANDELION DAYDREAMS and EVEN IN THE AFTER, plus feature films BLOOD & DUST and JIMMY RAGE. Drag performances include MascEra, Wet Dreams, and New Drag Showcase Competition, where they made it to the finale!

Sadie Odell is an artist in the local theatre community. They focus mainly on costume design and acting, and was most recently on stage as Jane in Mary Shelley with Women's Theatre Collective. Sadie would like to shout out her amazing parents, sisters, and partner for their support and enthusiasm for the arts. And special thanks to Spectrum Arts for creating a beautiful safe space for queer art to thrive in Sacramento.

Sunny is excited about being involved in this collaboration between Spectrum Stage and EQ Playfest and bringing life to Styx and Mother! They have recently taken a break from the stage to help build up Spectrum Stage and co-direct their inaugural production of STOP KISS. Works prior include Jeanette Marks in BULL IN A CHINA SHOP, (Empire Arts Collective) Vera in THE ODD COUPLE (Women'sTheatre Collective), Vick Wright in OUTER (EAC), Betty 4 in COLLECTIVE RAGE (Big Idea Theatre), and Helen O'Toole in EXIT THE BODY (Rise Up Theatre Company).

Thomas (he/him) is a seahorse dad with a B.A. in Theatre Arts (minor in Classics) from SFSU and recently finished his Masters in Classics (focus on ancient Greek theatre) from University of St. Andrews. Some performances he was previously in include: Rocky Horror Picture Show, Cyrano de Puppet, Singin' in the Rain, and Angels in America. In his free time, he is drawing cats, yapping with his sister, and writing toxic old man yaoi.

Vincent Usher, he/him, dabbles in pretty much every kind of art. He studies psychology with the intention of becoming an art therapist, specializing in the treatment of trauma. He often gets lost in horror podcasts and movies, raises Crested Gecko lizards,  and is turning his room into a jungle filled with plants. Vincent is known as "One Thing Usher" because once he does one thing, he’s gotta go take a nap.
