Stop Kiss

By Diana Son

March 27th - April 25th, 2026

Spectrum Stage, 2424 Castro Way, Sacramento, CA 95818

Stop Kiss by Diana Son is a contemporary love story set in New York City. When Callie, a traffic reporter, befriends Sara, a schoolteacher newly arrived from the Midwest, their casual friendship slowly deepens into something more. Just as they begin to understand what that connection means, a violent act changes everything.

Told through interwoven timelines, the play moves between the fragile beginnings of love and the aftermath of trauma, revealing how small, ordinary moments can hold extraordinary weight. Stop Kiss explores intimacy, fear, courage, and the cost of being seen in a world that does not always make space for queer love.

CONTENT ADVISORY: This play includes themes of homophobic violence (discussion only – no actual violence is shown on stage), strong language, and scenes related to injury and recovery.

Noah Pratt (they/them) | Director

Noah Pratt has been a presence in the Sacramento theater community since 2010, after earning their BA in Theatre Arts from Humboldt State University. Comfortable on both sides of the curtain, Noah has experience in directing, stage managing, lighting and set design, as well as acting. Some of their favorite credits include Betty 5 (Collective Rage, Big Idea Theatre), Arsenic and Old Lace (Directing, Arden Playhouse), and Hair (Lighting Design, Ferndale Repertory Theatre). They also sit on the board for the Sacramento Area Regional Theatre Alliance (SARTA), and are thrilled to have joined Spectrum Stage as Main Stage Program Co-director. Many thanks to this brilliant cast and crew, as well as my beautiful partner, without whom this show wouldn’t be possible.

Sunny Crego (they/them) | Director

Sunny's past Sacramento credits include Vera in THE ODD COUPLE (Women’s Theatre Collective), Vick Wright in OUTER (Empire Arts Collective), Betty 4 in COLLECTIVE RAGE (Big Idea Theatre), Alyx in A FAMILIAR FEELING (Empire Arts Collective), Helen O’Toole in EXIT THE BODY (Rise Up Theatre Company), and many more from their home state of Minnesota. They are proud to be Main Stage Program Co-director and hope this production brings pride and joy to the local queer community. Special thanks to their endlessly supportive partner, Noah, who helped make all of this possible.

Holly Zink (they/she) | Stage Manager

Holly Zink is the Stage Manager for this production and is honored to be part of Spectrum Stage's new Main Stage Program! They started performing arts in elementary school with music and continue to do so as part of the Sacramento Pop Choir. Holly would like to thank their wonderful sister, spouse, friends, family and community for all of their support over the years. They hope you all enjoy the hard work and love put into this incredible show!

Kelsey Williams (she/her) | Sara

Kelsey is excited to return to the stage to portray Sarah after many years away. The last show she was in was Hidden a Gender with Skip Theory in cooperation with the gender health center. Before that she had worked with many companies around sacramento. She is so very grateful to be given this opportunity and hopes you enjoy the production.

Gabriella Armstrong (she/they) | Callie

Gabriella "Gabs" Armstrong is thrilled to assist Spectrum Stage/Empire Arts Collective with their production of Stop Kiss. This is their first lead casting and they feel so honored to have been given the opportunity. After a 10 year break from theatre, Gabs returned to the stage in 2025 and has been in Rise Up's Night of the Living Dead as a zombie, and STAB!Theatre/Transketchual's Experimental Quickies festival. Gabs would like to thank Sunny and Noah for the chance and directorial support, as well as their partner for his emotional support through the challenge of having so many lines.

Sho Hunt (he/they) | George

Shoana T. Hunt (Sho) was born and raised in the Sacramento theatre scene before heading to Chicago for school. Armed with a BA in acting, stage combat, and voiceover, Sho went on tour with Jurassic World Live Tour for two years, bringing dinosaurs and stunt fights to children all over the US, Canada, and Mexico. Now back in Sac, they are performing and making films in Sacramento and the Bay Area, while generally attempting to be a good human. Most recently, Sacramentans may have seen them in Avenue Q with Second Wind Entertainment. @shoanathunt | www.shoanathunt.com |

Aspen Rains (he/they) | Peter

Aspen Rains is excited for the rest of the world to see the results of many months of hard work from the whole cast and crew, and honored to be trusted with Spectrum Stage’s inaugural production. You may have seen him most recently in featured ensemble roles in RENT at CRC’s Riverstage, or as Micheal in Rise Up Theatre’s tick, tick… BOOM! over the summer. Other notable performances include their work with Hummingbird Theatre Company in their Music Hall Spectaculaire and the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged), and they are currently in rehearsals with HTC for Romeo & Juliet opening in May. Finally, Aspen would like to thank all their loved ones who listened to him lament the lack of queer stories being told onstage in our community up until now, and as always, Dr. Karly Kaplan.

Lisa Dillion (she/her) | Mrs. Winsley/Nurse

Lisa Dillon (she/her) works as a Director/Choreographer for Valkyrie Theatre Company and the Women’s Theatre Collective in their Main Stage, Student Workshop and School Show programs.
